Defining Virtual Retinal Display

Imagine having a 3d vision implanted on your retina that allows you to feel like you’re in the situation that a simulator emits. VRD (Virtual Retinal Display) technology can make this happen. Basically, it augments reality to the point where the things around you are an enhanced image which is painted on your retina. This can be advantageous to the workforce. A great example of this is the way news stations would benefit, and this will be referred to in a later blog. Not only can this new VRD technology change the way people see reality but help many important jobs to be more effective through virtual training and 3D simulators. Some that are likely to benefit can be thus of pilots, anchormen, police etc...
Not only can police officers use it for training but apparently to cure pain. (Video)
To get to the point, The VRD device swiftly scans low power, red, green, and blue lasers directly on the retina of the eye so instead of seeing the natural conventional image, it is interfered by the lasers for a new projected image.VRDs give the user an illusion of viewing a typical screen-sized display floating in the air several feet away.
