The Replacement of Other Technologies due to VRD


One of the main technolgies that could potentially be replaced by the Virtual Retinal Display is the teleprompter. It works as a display mechanism for news anchors or anyone who works in front of cameras. It is a virtual script that is put in front of the viewer and projected from the camera. It essentially works similiar to cue cards just an electronic version of them! It serves as a one way mirror so only the person facing the camera can see the text. If news anchors used the Virtual Retinal Display, similiar to the telepromter the words would be floating in front of you. The difference is that it would be a clearer image and would be an easier message to convey without any error. Here is a video of why the telepromter may be replaced (blooper)
Another technology that should feel threatened, is any that can be displayed by an LCD screen, VHS or any other of that sort, hence the TV and the laptop. Soon enough it can very well replace these tools by virtually seeing the image through VRD instead of looking directly at the screen. It can be a more cheap means and you only have to purchase one.

One last technology it can possibly replace is a virtual reality system. Who would want to buy this costly device which is displayed on a computer screen while you can buy a system that displays the image on ones retina and is more realistic and sensible.
